　I．はじめに

　われわれは最近，熱湯嚥下から気管食道瘻を呈したと考えられる1症例を経験したのでここに報告する。

　A 60-year-old femal developed a tracheoesophageal fistula caused by scald after she drunk boiled water for purpose of suicide. A small injury of esophageal mucosa was observed, and then esophagitis was gradually enlarged. The trachcoesophageal fistula was formed 12 days after the accident. After severe aspiration pneumonia was developed, she died of respiratory insufficiency with hypoproteinosis. The destructive characters of digestive juice such as gastric, salivary and biliary were discussed regarding to formation of the tracheoesophageal fistula.
