I．はじめに
咽喉頭部異常感について心身症の立場から症例の検討と動物実験から得られた知見を報告する。
Detailed study of 478 cases who complained of abnormal sensations fo pharyngolaryngeal region was made.
This complanit appeared to be more prevalent among relatively younger people who were in their age-group of twenties and thirties. No sex difference was noted. Morbidity rate appeared to be larger in the urban area as compared to the countryside ; but, this difference might be due to better communication facilities in the former area as compared to the latter. The study also pointed out the importance of performing psychosomatic investigations because the patients were subjected to various stresses of modern living and burdened by conflicts originating from complicated human relations.
All patients were examined under psychological tests and classified according to Yatabe-Gifford and Cornell Medical Index.
Treatments consisted of administration of various tranquilizers in combination with psychotherapy. The results were effective.
