  • Look Inside

Through the model of the throat constructed for the study of the flow of air current in the pharyngolaryngeal region, it was revealed that such a current struck the following anatomical parts in succession : posterior pharyngeal wall, epiglottis, cartilagenous larynx, glottis, subglottis and the valleculum.

Microscopic study of the mucous membrane of this region, particularly posterior pharyngeal wall, epiglottis and valleculum, obtained from the 48 cadavers of persons, taken at random, who did not in life suffer any abnormal symptoms in the throat, showcd some cystic and hypertrophic degeneration in the ducts of the racemous glands.
