　私は最近，受傷後1ヵ月を經過した骨性並びに軟骨性斜鼻の1例に遭遇し，之に整形手術を行い略滿足すべき結果を得，種々教えられるところがあり，且我國の文献には軟骨性斜鼻整形にMetzenbaum氏法又はその變法を試みた報告が見當らぬので，その經驗の大要を述べたいと思う。

KUROZUMI and INOUE report a case of traumatic injury of the nose that resulted in deflection of the bony part. Correction of this deflection was attempted about one month after the injury had occurred by Joseph's method but the result of it was unsatisfactory mainly due to the fact that the septum which was also deflected was inaccessible by this method of approach. Good results are finally obtained as Metzenbaum's operation which enables the cartilagenous portion of the septum to be reached was performed. Metzenbaum's operation is quite frequently refered to in English and American literatures but no refer-ence is found in those of this country.
