　舌はリンパ組織の発達が極めてよいのでこゝに癌ができると転移が非常に早いことは既に古くから知られている。

　従つて原発せる舌の癌を手術で除去したり，ラヂウムやX線で治癒せしめ得た場合でも顎下又は頸部のリンパ節転移のために死の転帰をとることは屡経験する所である。

SUZUKI states that he employs indigo car-mine for Visualization of lymphatic vessels in performing lymphangiectomy as supplementary measures for treatment of lingual carcinoma.

The agent is used in 1 to 2 percent solution, and, 5 to 10 cc in amount which is injected in and around the area to be excised; better excis-ion is thus, facilitated. It is noted that vessels that are highly metastasized with growths' will not be stained well due to the possible fact that the lumen might be occluded. Vessels that are healthy or early in involvement stained well.
