舌癌手術3症例—特に其手術法に就いて

　私は最近殆んど時を同じうして3例の舌癌患者に遭遇し之を外科的に処置した．舌癌の手術々式は諸家に依り色々異つた法が用いられて来た．即ちJagerの頬部切開法Soerensenの顎下部切開法Langenbeckの下顎弓離断法，Bergmannの頬部切開下顎弓離断法，及び之等の変法であるが，私は舌骨上縁部より口腔底横隔膜を開き舌に到達する方法を試み，舌癌の手術には本法が最も勝れて居る事を確信したので，茲に報告致し諸家の御批判を仰ぐ次第である．

SHIBATA reports a case of carcinoma of to-ngue in which the lesion was manifested by a small ulcer. At the time of operation, however, the induration was found to be extended to the base of that organ that required its removal for the greater part. For this reason in operation of the tongue for malignancy, even when the manife-sted lesion might be small and situated at the tip, the author emphasizes the importance of making supra-hyoidal approach in. order to maintain at command an ample space for a possible complete exterpation of the tongue.
