舌癌は予防し得るか

CAN LINGUAL CANCER BE PREVENTED

　本稿は昭和45年2月8日，日耳鼻大阪地方会150回で演説したものにさらに症例を加えたものである。

　舌癌が尖つたムシ歯または義歯の刺激と関係あることは古くよりいわれており，余は昭和34年1月11日発行医海時報に「癌の過剰補充説」を発表し舌癌のことも述べておいた。それは刺激といつても組織を損傷せぬ刺激たとえばウドンやお粥の触れる刺激ではなく舌を損傷させる尖つた歯や，胃潰瘍による胃粘膜欠損，火酒や煙草毒による上皮の死滅を必要とすること，細胞が死滅すればその周囲の組織はただちに再成補充を始める。欠損部の補充が完成すれば増殖はやむのが正常であるが，次々と損傷が繰返えされる場合は次々と増殖を要することとなる。

　For a considerable time the relation between sharpened tooth and the cancer of the tongue had been suspected.The author treated 22 cases of the ulcer of tongue of which 2 cases had the diagnosis of cancer.

　The author states that, although it is not certain whether majority of unattended ulcer cases would de velop into cancer, yet the latter disease might be prevented if ulcer cases are given early attention.
