放線菌症とウスニン酸

　放線菌症はその発現部位がいずれであつても極めて難症で，幸にして全治に至るとしても相当長期を要するものである．しかし本症の好発部位とされる顔面，顎部，頸部にみられるものは腹部や胸部の放線菌症にくらべるとその予後は比較的可良ということができる．

　これまで本症の治療としては局所の切開掻爬にかねて，沃度剤の服用やレ線照射が試みられる程度でこれら療法の本症に対する作用機序を考えると全く心細いものであつた．

MATSUDA AND NAGAOKA report that they su-ccessfully cured a case of actinomycosis infection with parentral use of the sodium salt of usnic acid. A farmer aged 59 complained of a lesion with its center located at the left mandibular angle and sp-read toward the cheek, below the left ear and the neck in considerable largd area and, which existed for the period of 10 months. He was given a daily dose of 10cc of 0.2per cent (20mg) solution of this therapeutic agent which was subdivided 3cc, injected locally. and 7cc into the gluteal muscles. The patient was cured at the end of 52 days when total of 950mg of the agent was administered. But during this period it was necessary on 2 occasions to open and curet the abcesses that developed at the sise of intranuscular injections. Penicillin injections were given at both times.
