　Rhabdomyosarcoma （横紋筋肉腫）は，骨格筋由来の，比較的まれな腫瘍とされ，最近の本症に関する欧米の文献においても，幼児および小児に関するものが多く，成人例に関するものは，ほとんど注目されなかつた^1）。

　最近われわれは，高齢者の左上肢内側面に，再発を繰り返す，骨格筋より発生した症例を経験し，電子顕微鏡学的観察でも，本症と確信を得たので，若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

A case of this disease in the inner surface of the left upper extremity in 77-year-old man was reported.

The microscopic specimen showed the spindle-shaped or polymorphic cells, which had various size and were rich in atypical mitoses, and the giant cells with the strange nuclei. They showed the cross band by PTAH stain.

The electronmicroscopic specimen showed the giant cells with the irregularly indented nuclei and the large nucleoli, and the cells with linear structures.

The actomyosin filaments were arranged regularly in some of the latter cells, while they were not in the other. The regularly arranged fibers had the z-bands. Almost all of the linear structures were found in the roughsurfaced endoplasmic reticulums. There were no glycogen granules, virus-like particles, nor vacuolated mitochondriae.
