　21例の癒着性斜視症候群に対して行った斜視手術の治療結果を報告した。癒着性斜視症候群の原因疾患はすべて外眼筋に加わった外傷であった。手術前には正面位で13例（62％）に複視が自覚されたが，手術後には4例（19％）に減少した。機能的な改善は10例（48％）に認められた。原因疾患に対する手術回数の多い症例や，眼球運動制限の程度の強い症例，compression frac—tureの症例では機能的改善が得られにくく，したがって，癒着性の斜視に対しては，斜視手術ではかなりの治療限界があると考えられる。

We performed surgery on 21 patients with adhe-sive strabismus syndrome. The syndrome had devel-oped secondary to trauma to the extraocular mus-cles. Diplopia in the primary position was present in 13 of the 21 patients before surgery and persisted in 4 after surgery. Functional improvement wasobtained in 10 patients. Poor surgical outcome was related with the number of past surgery, degree of restricted ocular motility and with the presence of orbital compression fracture. Once this syndrome is established, therefore, only about 50% of patients can be effectively treated with the current surgical techniques.
