　網膜静脈分枝閉塞症に伴う硝子体内増殖の特徴について検討した．これらは虚血型の分枝閉塞症に伴って発生し，血管内皮の増殖が血管瘤様に内境界膜を破って網膜前に突出し，硝子体側にのびること．また発生部位は閉塞した主静脈のわきで，閉塞領域のほぼ中央に位置することが多いことが明らかになった．

We evaluated 9 cases with retinal branch vein occlu-sion associated by fibrovascular proliferation in the vitreous. The proliferation was usually single in num-ber. It was located in the central portion of the occluded retinal area and along a major retinal vein. In 2 cases in the present series, the fundus was obscured by severe vitreous hemorrhage and the presence of proliferative mass was detected during consequent vitreous surgery. By fluorescein angiography,the fibrovascular masses were composed of multiple small vascular units fed by the retinal circulatory system. Disseminated photocoagulation over the ischemic area was effective for inducing regression or preventing further growth of fibrovascular lesions.
