緒　言

　1972年に英国のHounsfieldらによつて開発されたEMI-Scannerの実用化は，Computed To-mography（CT）による診断法という画期的な進歩を促した。その後，このCT検査は数年の間に著しい普及率でひろがり，一般化するようになつてきた。眼科領域においても，1974年より眼窩疾患の診断に導入され非常な威力を発揮し^1〜5），本邦でも，その原理，方法，また症例などについて報告されるようになり，必要不可欠な根検査法としての地位を確立しつつある^6〜9）。

　今回，われわれは本装置を種々の眼疾患に使用し，その結果について検討を加えたので報告する。

　One hundred patients with various intraorbital pathology were examined by using EMI-Scanner (CT 1000).

　The use of computed tomography (CT) in the investigation of orbital lesions was of value for the localization of the lesions as well as making the specific diagnosis. The CT scans with the high resolution method gave only two false negative findings in a patient with orbital varix and another with arteriovenous fistula.

　The images of meningiomas wese significantly enhanced after administration of 100 ml of 65% Angiografin. In the pseudotumors, the CT scans showed a diffuse density in the retrobulbar space.
