学童のTrachoma Control （第1報）

Trachoma control for the pupils

　トラコーマの統計や集団治療については，夥しい報告があるが，どこにTrとしての診断の限界を置くかと云うことが判然としないため，学校衛生の面やその他で色々混乱が起きているようである。我々も東大衛生看護学科と共同して，東京近県の小中学校児童についてTrと環境衛生の関係を昭和30年夏から調査しており，引続き本年も行う予定であるが，その際行つた集団治療においてその感を新らたにした。ここにその結果を報告すると共にTr検診について2〜3考察を試みてみたい。

　我々はなるべく眼科医のいない地域の学校を対象として選ぶよう努力したが，実際には検診した5校のうち，それ迄全く眼科医にかかつたことのない児童が大部分を占めていたのは埼玉県のO小学校のみで，他ではすべてそれ迄に，Trと云われて治療や手術を受けたもの，或いは現在加療中のものを可成りの数に見受けた。但しこれらは今回の成績からは除外してある。

Various antibiotics were used at the mass treatment for 2820 pupils who had received almost no trachoma treatment, and the results were as follows :

1. 2% Ointment of chloramphenicol was not effective for typical trachoma.

2. Therefore, We should like to consider the previous report, that slight degree of tra-choma was treated effectively by chloram-phenicol, as indirect effect.

3. It was established that leucomycin was an effective antibiotics against trachoma next to the series of tetracyclin.

4. Typical trachoma was found less than 1% of examinees, but trachomatous signs were noticed less than 10%.
