緒言

　糖尿病に外眼筋麻痺の合併が多いことは広く知られている。ことに瞳孔異常を伴わない動眼神経麻痺をおこすことがその特徴であると，外国では報告されている。

　しかしわが国では，このような症例の報告は少なく，また臨床的にかかる症例に遭遇することも珍しい。

This paper is the presentation of a case of oculomotor nerve paralysis complicating long-standing diabetes mellitus. A 66-year-old lady was presenting sudden onset of complete para-lysis of the levator of the right eyelid and pa-ralysis of the extrinsic ocular muscles supplied by the oculomotor nerve with sparing of the pupil, preceding with pain in the homolateral eye and forehead. There was gradual clearing of oculomotor nerve paralysis in three and a half months without any sequelae. She was a typical case of the oculomotor nerve paralysis seen in diabetics.
