Ⅰ．緒言

　下垂体腫瘍の症状には，内分泌系の機能亢進または機能低下による特異な全身症状とならんで，眼症状が最も重視される。というよりは，下垂体腫瘍は眼症状によつてのみ患者じしんに早期に自覚され，かつ眼症状だけが殆んど唯一の症状として経過している期間が長い，という方がむしろ妥当であろう^1）。

　患者の多くはこの期間に眼科を訪ねるが，この時期にたまたま看過されると，腫瘍が自然成長のままで放置されることになる。下垂体腫瘍の早期診断に眼科の責任が特に重いといわれるゆえんである^2）−5）。

A case of chromophobe adenoma with aty-pical chiasmal syndrome was reported. The patient was a man, aged 32 years. In January 1958, he first became aware of some difficulty with his vision in the left eye. During about two years the vision in this eye was gradu-ally reduced and the visual field was parac-entricaly constricted, while the vision and visual field in the right eye showed no any significant changes. At that time the condit-ion of the left eye was suspected by the consulting ophthalmologists as a sort of the traumatic optic atrophy.
