目的：穿孔性眼外傷の視力転帰の検索。対象：過去3年間に治療した穿孔性眼外傷37例を対象とした。すべて片眼性であり，眼球破裂14眼，強角膜裂傷18眼，眼内異物5眼であった。結果：眼球破裂では視力転帰不良例が多く，強角膜裂傷では転帰が概して良好であった。前眼部外傷では視力転帰が概して良好であり，後眼部外傷では転帰が不良であった。眼球破裂では裂傷が直筋付着部を越えると転帰不良であった。結論：穿孔性眼外傷では，裂傷の部位，とくに裂傷が直筋付着部を越えるか否かが視力予後を決定する一因である。

Purpose：To evaluate the visual outcome of penetrating ocular injuries. Cases：This retrospective study was made on 37 cases of penetrating ocular injury during the past 3-year period. All were unilaterally involved. The series comprised rupture of eyeglobe 14 eyes,corneoscleral rupture 18 eyes,and intraocular foreign body 5 eyes. Findings：Visual outcome was generally poor in rupture of eyeglobe and was fair in corneoscleral rupture. Visual outcome was better in injury of anterior segment than that in posterior segment. Visual outcome was poor in rupture of eyeglobe extending posterior to the insertion of rectus muscles. Conclusion：Location of the wound is one of decisive factors for visual outcome in pentrating ocular injuries.
