　右脚ブロック（以下RBBB）が，高齢者の心機能に及ぼす影響を心プールシンチグラフィーを用いて検討した．他疾患を伴わないRBBBを有する33〜75歳の26例において，65歳以上の9例を高齢者群，60歳以下の17例を非高齢者群とし，安静時および運動負荷時の左室収縮機能（LVEF），左室拡張機能（PFR），右室収縮機能（RVEF）を算出し，それぞれ年齢の一致した対照群28例と比較した．その結果，対照群において，加齢によるLVEFの変化を認めなかったがその予備能は低下し，さらにPFRは加齢によりその予備能とともに低下し，既存の報告に一致した．そして，RBBBは加齢に伴う左室機能の変化に影響を及ぼさなかった．一方，対照群の右室機能は加齢の影響を受けず，RBBBの右室機能とその予備能への影響は，非高齢者のうちは影響を受けないが，加齢により低下した．その機序として加齢に伴う右室収縮様式の変化による可能性が示唆された．

The effect of aging on cardiac function in patiens with right bundle branch block (RBBB) was commonly unknown, so left ventricular function and right ventricular function were investigated, using first-pass radionuclide angiography. Twenty-six patients with RBBB and 28 normal subjects were studied at rest and during bicycle exercise. Patients with RBBB but nor-mal cardiovascular systems aged 33 to 75 years were divided into those within 60 years (n=17) and those over 65 years (n=9). Using the same method, normal subjects aged 38 to 83 years were divided into those within 60 years (n=18) and those over 65 years (n=10).
