膜型人工肺に関する研究—特に小型積層型膜型肺の試作

Experimental Study on Membrane Oxygenator--Especially on a new parallel plate type membrane oxygenator

　膜型人工肺はガス交換方式が生理肺と同じ機構（Gasmembrane-blood interface）をもつ為，従来の気泡型人工肺，回転円板型人工肺に代るより理想的な人工肺として注目され^1），現在まで多くの開発研究^2〜7）がなされてきた。特に近年の高分子化学の発展は優秀なガス透過膜を生み出し，更に機構上の工夫がなされてLande-Edwards肺^8），Kolobow肺^9），Travenol肺^10）などの秀れた膜型肺が実用化され，その適応も血液充塡量が少くさらにGas-blood interfaceで起る溶血や血清蛋白の変性がほとんどないため，乳児体外循環，長時間を要する複雑心奇形の手術時の体外循環，また肺炎，ショック肺に対する肺補助など広く行われるようになってきた。更に操作，構造が簡単で価格の安いすぐれた製品が完成された時はそのガス交換のメカニズムから，すべての体外循環や補助循環また肺補助などに対して膜型肺が使われるであろう。

　我々はこのような理想的な肺を目指し，次の3点，A）性能，B）構造，C）使用する立場，から研究開発をすすめている。

Although the membrane oxygenator has been recognized as the ideal artificial lung, the use of it is not popular as should be, because of insufficient oxygen transfer rate, difficult assembly, high expense and leakage.

In this point of view, we have attempted to make many changes for improvement for over the last 10 years.

Our most recent model is a parallel plate type membrane oxygenator, which is small in size, simple in design, easy to handle and capable to mass production.
