Ⅰ．緒　言

　心，肺内に含まれる血液量特に肺血量は肺循環研究上最も重要な部門の一つである。

　肺血量の測定は一般にStewart^1）が始め，Hamilton^5）が改良した方法（Stewart-Hamilton）法を用いて，Ebert^3）に従つて行われている。

The pulmonary blood volume (PBV) was mea-sured by T₁₈₂₄ and was calculated from Ste-wart's formula in patients with heart or lung diseases. PBV was compared with Newman's theoretical volume (F/λ).

1) Effects of difference of injection site of T₁₈₂₄ on the cardiac out-put and F/λ have not been observed. PBV shows propotional inc-rease, as the site of injection was moved to the peripheral systmic vein. Rate of increase in PBV varies with the mean circulation time.
