要旨　胃のMALT型marginal zone B-cell lymphoma（MZBL）（別名，MALTリンパ腫）の組織診断基準とその運用，低異型度と高異型度のMZBLは肉眼所見（肉頗型など）を異にすること，MZBLの診断と生物学的悪性度を正確にするには，それに応じた肉眼所見の部から材料を採取すること，MZBLと推定される病変やHelicobacter pylori除菌で腫瘍が消失したと考えられるMZBLには，B細胞とT細胞免疫染色は不可欠であることを述べた．

　In this paper we reported the histological criteria and cytologic grading (low- and high-grade) of gastric marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (MZBL) of MALT type, and then macroscopic features of low-grade and high-grade MZBL.

　In order to make a precise histological diagnosis and estimate prognosis of MZBL, it is very important to take specimens from both the superficial spreading area (low-grade tumor) and mass-forming (polypoid or ulcerating mass) area (high-grade tumor). In addition, immunostaining of B-cells and T-cells is necessary, particularly for specimens of suspective MZBL or MZBL treated with the therapy of Helicobacter pylori erradication.
