・ムチン性母斑は1993年に第1例が報告された比較的新しい疾患概念である．
・これまでに国内外で30例程度の報告にとどまるまれな疾患である．
・体幹の片側に多発し帯状あるいは列序性に配列する淡褐色調の丘疹や結節をみた際にはムチン性母斑も鑑別疾患として念頭に置き，組織生検を行って診断を確定することが重要である．
