Hyperkeratosis of the nipple and areola is a rare disease characterized by brownish verrucous plaques of the nipple, areola or both. Subclinical type of this disease predominantly occurring in females of child-bearing age is known as nevoid hyperkeratosis of the nipple and areola (NHNA). We report a case of bilateral NHNA in a 37-year-old female, with no history of pregnancy, estrogen therapy, or underlying disease. Histological examination revealed typical features of NHNA with hyperkeratosis, filiform acanthosis, papillomatosis, and keratotic plugging. She was successfully treated with cryotherapy.
