・過去報告例と比較して巨大なインスリンボールを経験した．

・全切除および病理組織学的所見よりインスリンボールと診断した．

・インスリンボールの発生予防には注射部位のローテーション指導が重要である．

A case of giant insulin ball

The patient was a 55-year-old female who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and treated with insulin. A skin tumor appeared on her left abdomen and grew bigger over time, leading her to visit the hospital. She underwent resection surgery to remove the tumor under general anesthesia. Histologically, her tumor samples showed amyloid deposits and an increased density of collagen fibers in the dermis. The tumor was thus diagnosed as insulin injection-induced local amyloid deposition. Her blood insulin levels were markedly lower when insulin was injected into the region containing amyloid deposits than when it was injected into healthy skin.
