A 75-year-old Japanese woman presented with a month history of asymptomatic slightly reddish papules on the front of left wrist. The papules ranged from 2 to 5 mm in diameter. She had been suffering from rheumatoid arthritis for 17 years. Histological examination revealed mucin deposit in the upper and mid dermis with proliferation of fibroblasts and perivascular infiltrate of inflammatory cells. Six months after the skin biopsy, the lesions resolved spontaneously without treatment. It was guessed that the long history of rheumatoid arthritis might participate in the occurrence of this disorder.
