関節リウマチの病態は複雑なサイトカインネットワークが関係しているが，中でもIL-6の果たす役割は大きい。IL-6阻害薬は約10年の使用経験の中で，高い有効性と安全性が証明されてきた。最適な使用法や予後予測などについての研究も進められており，今後もRA治療における中核となることが期待される。
Complicated cytokine network is involved in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis（RA）. Among various cytokines, interleukin（IL）-6 is particularly important. Efficacy and safety of IL-6 inhibitors have been proved for the past decade. Many researches have studied optimal usage of and predictive markers for IL-6 inhibitors. IL-6 inhibitors are expected to play a pivotal role in the management of RA in future.
