医療ニーズに応えた注射用タゾバクタム・ピペラシリン－タゾピペR配合静注用「明治」の開発－

Development of Tazobactam and Piperacillin for injection－TAZOPIPE R Combination for I.V. Infusion「Meiji」to satisfy medical needs－

　タゾピペＲ配合静注用「明治」は，広域抗菌スペクトルを有するペニシリン系抗生物質であるピペラシリンとβ-ラクタマーゼ阻害剤であるタゾバクタムを配合したゾシン静注用の後発医薬品（凍結乾燥製剤）である。本剤の開発に当たり医療ニーズを調査した結果，バイアル・箱サイズの小型化への期待と，溶解性の改善および取り違い防止の工夫への期待があった。これらのニーズを満たす製剤の開発を試みた結果，溶解性を維持しつつ製剤サイズを小型化することに成功し，加えて高品質原薬の採用および取り違い防止の工夫等も取り入れ，本剤が本来もっている有効性に加え，高品質かつ利便性に優れる医療ニーズに応えた付加価値の高い製剤を開発できた。

　TAZOPIPE R Combination for I.V. Infusion「Meiji」is the generic drug（freeze-dried formulation）of Zosyn for I.V. Infusion that is a mixed product of Piperacillin, a penicillin antibiotic with broad spectrum, and Tazobactam, a β-lactamase inhibitor. Medical needs survey conducted prior to development of this generic drug revealed high expectations for smaller vials and packages, improved solubility, and devices to avoid a risk of misidentifying the drug. As the result of endeavor to satisfy these demands, we succeeded in miniaturizing the product, while keeping good solubility. Moreover, we selected high-quality drug substances and devised improvements to the packaging to avoid confusions. Finally we succeeded in creating high-quality, user-friendly and highly-valued product with the original efficacy, which fully meets medical needs.
