Necrotizing fasciitis is a highly fatal disease caused by group A streptococci and other bacteria, and is now collectively referred to as gas gangrene or Fournier's gangrene or, more recently, necrotizing soft tissue sensitization and is treated by emergency debridement. Although the primary goal of treatment is undoubtedly to save lives, large sections of healthy tissue are often removed, including large amputations of the lower extremities. As a result, large skin grafts and valves are required. We report three cases of Skin-sparing debriedement in which soft tissues were spared as much as possible during debriedement with good results.
