Ⅰ　THE CONCEPT OF PALLIATIVE CARE

　Palliative care is the active, holistic care focused on individuals with life threatening health conditions. Palliative care can provide curative treatment which distinguishes it from hospice. These ethical reasons are summarized in the following passage by Kass LR et al. in “Ethical dilemmas in the care of the ill.
