Since the main purpose of breast reconstruction surgery is to improve the appearance of the breast, there are significant advantages to the use of endoscopic techniques to harvest tissue without leaving a scar at the harvesting site. Although attempts to harvest muscle flaps under endoscopic assistance have been made for some time, it has been observed that the volume of muscle flaps is not sufficient for breast reconstruction. Breast reconstruction using an endoscopically assisted latissimus dorsi + vascularized adipose tissue flap is a method that can be performed safely and effectively by supplementing the lack of volume by including an adipose tissue flap nourished by the thoraco-dorsal artery, combined with the grafting of fat tissue from other parts of the body or with an artificial breast. The appropriate selection of cases for which this method is to be applied is also important. This article focuses on the equipment used in endoscopic surgery and the techniques that can be used for breast lifting, as plastic surgeons may not become familiar with this equipment and techniques in their daily practice.
