下垂体転移は1857年にLudwig Benjaminによる播種性悪性黒色腫の患者の剖検において初めて報告された^1）2）。下垂体は，転移先としてまれな部位であるが，ほぼすべての原発部位からの転移が報告されている^1）。しかしながら，食道癌からの下垂体転移の報告は極めて少ない^3）4）。今回我々は，食道扁平上皮癌からの下垂体-視床下部転移の1例を経験したので，文献的考察とともに報告する。

A 63-year-old man noticed visual field impairment after surgery for esophageal cancer. Brain CT and MRI revealed a lobulated mass lesion in the suprasellar region with extensive edema of the optic tracts.

After craniotomy, the mass lesion was diagnosed as metastatic tumor（squamous cell carcinoma）pathologically. Pituitary metastasis should be considered in patients with cancer, even if it is rare.
