化膿性関節炎は発症早期に関節破壊や敗血症をきたし得る内科的準緊急疾患である。通常は単関節で起こるが，まれに多関節型として発生することがある。今回我々は，全身多発性の化膿性関節炎および膿瘍に対し，抗菌薬・排膿ドレナージでの早期治療介入によって良好な経過が得られた1例について，若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

A 72-year-old male presented with throat discomfort and front chest pain. Whole-body CT and MRI revealed septic arthritis of the spinal facet joints, sternoclavicular and acromioclavicular joints with multiple abscesses. After antibiotic treatment and drainage of infection foci, significant clinical symptoms and imaging findings almost disappeared. In this rare case, diagnostic imaging with CT and MRI seemed to accelerate the determination of therapeutic strategy and contributed to a favorable prognostic outcome.
