Examination on the difference in the exposure dose of the left and right lenses of physicians engaged in cardiac and vascular IVR

IVR（interventional radiology）は画像診断装置を使用し，画像ガイド下でカテーテルなどを使用して治療を行う手技である。外科手術と比較して低侵襲であるという特徴があり，現在広く普及している。近年では装置や技術の進歩に伴い手技が高度化しており，透視時間や撮影回数の増加による線量増加が問題となっている。実際に患者の皮膚障害やIVRに携わる医療従事者の白内障発症など，放射線障害が報告されており^1-4），患者および医療従事者に対する放射線被ばく線量の管理は重要である^5-17）。

With the reduction of the equivalent dose limit for the lens in the 2011 ICRP statement, the importance of accurate assessment of lens exposure dose has increased in recent years. In this study, in order to examine the appropriate position of the dosimeter, we examined the difference in the left and right doses of lens exposure of physicians engaged in Interventional Radiology. Since the dose was highest in the left eye in all the procedures, it is considered appropriate to wear a dosimeter near the left eye in order to evaluate the exposure dose on the safe side. It was also suggested that the difference between the left and right doses differs depending on the content of the procedure.
