We compared FDG-PET/CT and diffusion-weighted whole-body imaging with background body signal suppression(DWIBS)before and after treatment in patients with malignant lymphoma. The initial staging agreement between PET and DWIBS staging was 84.6%. DWIBS detection rate of regional lymph node/organ infiltration was 100% sensitivity and 88% specificity compared to PET. However, DWIBS tended to be overdiagnosed, it could determine inflammatory false positive in PET. In addition, there was a strong correlation between tumor volume on PET and DWIBS. DWIBS is useful in combination with FDG PET/CT for comprehensive evaluation and treatment of malignant lymphoma.
