From the year of 2000 to 2020, disasters in the Southeast Asia Region (SEARO) consisting of 11 countries affected at least 1.6 billion people, with the largest threats being flood, namely 59% or 2,517 of the most disaster events. Meanwhile, the drought occurred the least, but affected 1.1 billion people, followed by cyclone, earthquake, landslide, and biological. India is experiencing the most disaster intensity in South East Asia (55%), then followed by Bangladesh (18.7%) and Indonesia (8.7%) (EM-DAT, the International Disaster Data Base, 2021)
