糖尿病外来における電子メールを使った看護相談システムの開発に向けて,その可能性を探求するためにニーズ調査を行った.糖尿病外来に通院している患者,あるいは付き添っている家族を対象に質問紙を478部配布し,回収期間中に350部回収(回収率73.2%)した.質問紙を分析した結果,電子メールを使った看護相談へのニーズありと興味のみを合わせて6割以上を占め,特に社会的に多忙とされる病院が開いている時間帯に時間の融通が利かないと思われる者にニーズが高い傾向がみられた.また,キーボードやコンピュータ,電子メールに対する親和性に伴って,ニーズも高くなる傾向がみられた反面,コンピュータの操作が大変なことを危惧する者が4割以上,電子メールを使う者は1割未満であった.調査結果より,電子メールを使った看護相談システムの試行に際し考慮すべき点が示唆された.
The purpose of this research was to look at the possibility of using E-mail to develop a nursing consultation system at diabetic outpatient clinics. A total of 478 outpatients and their families were given questionnaires, 350 (73.2%) were returned completed. These 350 questionnaires showed that interests and needs for an E-mail consultancy system was high with 60%of the people being in favour of such a system. However 42.3%(148) of the people had a fear of using computers and only 6.1%(20) people used E-mail at the time of the survey. Outpatients who had a busy social life showed the most interest as they found it is difficult to attend clinics during opening hours. This research shows that an E-mail consultation system may enhance the communication between nurse and patient which would be beneficial two both parties.
