The purpose of this study is to clarify how hemiplegic stroke patients acknowledge their physical abilities and risks in the activities of daily living, and whether there are differences of ability/risk recognition among patient, caregiver, and occupational therapist.

32 hemiplegic stroke patients, 32 caregivers, and 16 occupational therapists filled out a questionnaire, the answers of which showed that patients and caregivers tended to give similar evaluations with regard to physical ability. However, with regard to the risk evaluation, many occupational therapists' evaluations were different from the others.

Furthermore, we have found that patients' evaluation of risk does not correspond with that of the others.

Through this research, among participants, perceptions of risk communication confirm that risk information was considered.
