The purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristics of the information required by nurses and the information provided by speech-language-hearing therapists (SLHTs) when sharing information regarding the communication of aphasic patients in convalescent rehabilitation wards. We created a table of 100 items for analyzing information sharing on aphasic persons' communication, and conducted a survey of SLHTs and nurses in convalescent rehabilitation wards. The results indicate that nurses needed information on almost all items, but SLHTs tended to provide information on selective items. In the comparison of function and activity information, SLHTs emphasized function, whereas nurses emphasized both function and activity. In addition, both professions emphasized information on nonverbal communication and recognized the importance of language understanding. In information sharing between SLHTs and nurses, it is necessary for SLHTs to provide information that is pertinent to actual communication activity situations. The results of this study may be useful for developing tests related to communication skills in the future.
