　エピドラスコピーは比較的侵襲度の低い有用な治療法であるといえるが，ときによっては重大な合併症を引き起こす可能性もあり，その手技と周術期の患者管理においては十分な注意を払わなければならない．周術期の具体的な患者管理の方法とそのポイントを，筆者らの施設での経験や過去の文献に基づいてまとめた．

Epiduroscopy is a new, minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic device, but serious complications, such as retina hemorrhage, convulsion, brain hemorrhage, and nerve damage can be induced by its inappropriate use.

Inorder to prevent these complications, cares should be taken for the handling of the device and perioperative management of the patient undergoing epiduroscopic surgery. In this chapter, the essence of perioperative pa-tient care is provided, based on our experiences and clinical reports on the epiduroscopic surgery.
