全身麻酔は，呼吸応答の抑制や機能的残気量の低下など，呼吸器系にさまざまな変化をきたす。これらの変化によって生じる無気肺や呼吸不全などの術後肺合併症は，発症率が非常に高く，予後に大きな影響を与える重大な合併症である。そのため術後肺合併症について理解しておくことは，よりよい周術期管理を行ううえで不可欠なことである。本稿では，術後肺合併症の予防や治療方法を中心に，文献的考察を交えて論じる。

General anesthesia causes a variety of changes in the respiratory system, including suppression of the respiratory response and a decrease in functional residual capacity. Postoperative pulmonary complications such as atelectasis and respiratory failure resulting from these changes are serious complications with a very high incidence and a significant impact on prognosis. Therefore, understanding postoperative pulmonary complications is essential for better perioperative management. This article will focus on the prevention and treatment of postoperative pulmonary complications.
