Renal replacement therapy is commonly used worldwide in the intensive care unit. Appropriate use of medications in critically ill patients receiving continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is crucial to improve patient outcomes. When adopting renal replacement therapy, it is important to estimate the medication dose based on pharmacokinetics. Drug removal includes the processes of diffusion, ultrafiltration, and adsorption. In addition to this principle, the medication dose should be determined considering the patient's own clearance. To construct this framework for drug administration, knowledge of pharmacokinetics and pharmacology is essential. However, there is little drug information available at this time. Therefore, it is expected that evidence will be created by physicians and pharmacists involved in intensive care.
