 The purpose of this research was to develop a selfevaluation scale on clinical teaching behaviors for nursing faculty, which had well-established reliability, validity, and fitness for a substantive area. Seventy-two items were made based on 9 concepts. The 9 concepts were found through a qualitative research and they described the clinical teaching behaviors of nursing faculty. The 72 items were grouped into 9 subscales corresponding to 9 concepts. Content validity of the scale was established by a panel of experts and a pilot study. The scale with 72 items was field-tested with the total of 726 nursing faculty. Item analyses were conducted, and the original 72 items were reduced to 36. The scale with 36 items was named the Scale of Clinical Teaching Behaviors (SCTB). The alpha reliability coefficient of the SCTB was 0.9588. The result of a factor analysis showed that the construct validity of the SCTB was established approximately.
