The purpose of this research was to develop a selfevaluation scale on Oriented Problem Solving Behavior in Nursing Practice (OPSN). which had satisfactory reliability, validity and fittingness of the real world. Theoretical framework was formulated, based on 5 concepts, they were the findings of the previous qualitative inductive research. And these concepts explained nurses' behavior in patient interaction were matched with nursing problem. Based on this theoretical framework, 5 sub-scales constructed with 40 items were made to measure the quality of nurses' behavior oriented problem solving in nursing practice. Expert panel meeting and it pilot study were performed to establish content validity of OPSN, total of 739 registered nurses completed OPSN (Primary Edition), then the 25 items were selected based on the results of item analysis technique. The internal consistency of OPSN was supported by coefficient alpha of 0.951. The result of factor analysis showed that OPSN reflected 5 categories which was base of sub-scales and items development, then construct validity was confirmed.
