  • Abstract

English editor : My practical advice to you is to avoid long sentences in preparing a peech. Long phrases with many hyphens are difficult for your listeners to follow. Instead of saying “lectininduced lymphokine-activated killer cells”, say “killer cells first induced with a lectin and then activated with a lymphokine.” In our eighth conversation,① I mentioned that no more than three modifying words can precede a noun. This is important in writing, but it is even more important in speaking.
