先輩技師：前回は引用文献の間違いについてお話しされました．この種の間違いは，間違っていることがすぐわかります．文献のリストに書いてあるページ数が正しくても，間違っていても，いずれにしてもです．間違いの理由は不注意によるものです．引用文の間違いについてはどうなんでしょうか？　何か例がありますか？

　英文編集者：ある著者が「ある薬剤が有効であった」と述べて，この記述を支持するために引用文献を1個つけました．この論文を読んだ2人の読者が，その引用文献の原本を調べました．原本では，実験対象はたった15人で，その薬剤の治験は一重盲検でも二重盲検でもなく，また対照も設けられていませんでした．この論文の著者らは，その薬剤に有効性があるとは強く主張していませんでした．そういうことで，この論文を引用した著者が「この薬剤は有効である」と言ったときに，引用文献の間違いが起こったのです．

Senior technologist: Last time you talked about citation errors. They are a kind of error that is easy to identify. Either the page number given in the reference list is correct or it is not. The reason for the errors is carelessness. What about quotation errors ? Can you give some examples ?

English editor : One author stated that a certain drug was “effective,” and gave a reference to support this statement.① Two readers of this article checked the original reference. In the original, there were only 15 subjects, and the trial of the drugs was openR and uncontrolled. The authors of the original reference did not make a strong claim about the efficacy of the drug. So a quotation error was made by the writer who referred to this article when he said that the drug was “effective.”
