IgG4関連疾患(IgG4-related disease)は，血清IgG4高値とIgG4陽性形質細胞の腫瘤形成あるいは組織浸潤を特徴とする新たな疾患概念である．その発見から現在まで，日本が中心となって世界に情報を発信してきた．この疾患は，自己免疫性膵炎，Mikulicz病をはじめ，これまで後腹膜線維症，炎症性偽腫瘍，Küttner腫瘍と呼ばれていた疾患を含み，間質性腎炎，間質性肺炎の一部をも含み，全身の諸臓器に発生する可能性がある．そのため，リウマチ膠原病，消化器，呼吸器，腎臓，血液，神経，内分泌などの内科系領域に加え，口腔外科，眼科，耳鼻科，放射線科など広く各診療科に周知する必要がある．

IgG4-related disease (IgG4RD) is a novel clinical disease entity characterized by elevated serum IgG4 concentration and tumefaction or tissue infiltration by IgG4-positive plasma cells.　Many papers concerning IgG4 RD have been presented from Japan.　Since IgG4RD includes a wide variety of diseases, including Mikulicz's disease, autoimmune pancreatitis, retroperitoneal fibrosis, inflammatory pseudotumor, Kutner tumor, interstitial pneumonitis, interstitial nephritis, doctors should be aware of this new disease in various fields, such as rheumatology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, nephrology, hematology, neurology, endocrinology, oral surgery, ophthalmology, odontology, and radiology.
