タイリングアレイによるmRNA解析

mRNA analysis using tiling array technology

最近の研究から，遺伝子内の部分的な変化が，癌や神経変性疾患などの病気を引き起こすことが明らかとなってきた．したがって，そのようなわずかな変化をとらえることが，疾患の診断やオーダーメイド治療などに役立つと考えられる．従来の技術では，短い領域を対象にしたゲノムワイドな解析は行うことができなかったが，タイリングアレイという新しい技術を用いることによって，遺伝子内の部分的な変化を，多くの遺伝子において同時に観察できるようになった．そこで本稿では，タイリングアレイの概説とその応用性に関して述べたいと思う．

Recent studies revealed that some types of cancers and neurodegenerative diseases are caused by changes in small parts of mRNAs.　Therefore, it is very useful to detect such slight changes in mRNAs for diagnosis and tailor-made medicine.　Tiling array technology enables us to analyze partial changes in mRNAs at a genome-wide level that is unfeasible using conventional microarray technology.　In this chapter, I will describe the tiling array technology and introduce some ideas for applying it in clinical studies.
