遺伝子診療の展開―稀少疾患の遺伝子検査の現状と課題

Genetic tests for rare diseases:current conditions and assignments

　稀少遺伝性疾患の分子遺伝学的検査を日本において実施することには多くの困難がある．それは次のような理由による．保険適用や先進医療となっている遺伝学的検査が極めて少ない．他の検査について臨床検査会社あるいは大学などの研究施設が引き受けてくれることも容易でない．研究的意義が薄れた解析を継続して実施していくには困難がある．経費の支払いにも難しい場合が多い．また，臨床検査として実施するには精度管理が不可欠であるが，一般の検体検査で実施される手順は，稀少性のために極めて困難である．

It is difficult in Japan to perform genetic testing for rare genetic diseases due to a number of problems.　First, genetic tests with insurance coverage or those as done in advanced medical care "Senshin-Iryo" are rare.　Further, it is not easy for those tests to be done by commercial or research laboratories.　Continuation of such analyses by research laboratories without research significance is usually hard.　Payment for such tests may be difficult.　Although quality control as clinical laboratory tests is essential, procedures used for general laboratory tests may not be applicable to genetic tests for such diseases because of rarity.
