Laboratory examinations and new diagnostic criteria for myeloproliferative neoplasms

　骨髄増殖性疾患(MPN)の発症にかかわる遺伝子変異としてJAK2 V617Fの存在が報告されて以来，MPNは血液内科学のホットな領域となった．これに伴い，MPNの診断基準も大幅な改定がなされ，遺伝子変異の存在が取り入れられるようになった．これにより真性多血症の診断は明確になったが，本態性血小板血症および原発性骨髄線維症についてはいまだ除外診断が重要な位置を占めており，あいまいさを残している．

Since the identification of JAK2 gene mutation as an important molecular pathogenesis, myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) have become an attractive area in hematology. Incorporating several genetic abnormalities, diagnostic criteria have been revised by WHO. According to the new diagnostic criteria, diagnosis of polycythemia vera has become clear although the diagnoses of essential thrombocythemia and primary myelofibrosis remain somewhat obscure.
