放射線照射後の角膜の走査電子顕微鏡学的観察

Scanning Electron Microscopic Study on Irradiated Corneas

　I．はじめに

　上顎癌はその解剖学的特殊性により進行例として発見されることが多く，眼窩内へ浸潤している症例にしばしば遭遇する。したがって眼球が直接照射野に入るところもあり，その結果眼障害をきたし，時には失明する場合もある。しかしながら，現在上顎癌の治療は放射線治療が主体をなし，ある程度の生体への障害は避けられない。

　我々は最近，上顎癌で眼球が直接照射され，その後眼球摘出術をうけた症例の角膜の障害幹につき走査電子顕微鏡を用いて観察する機会を得たので，ここに報告する。

　The injured corneas, after applying radiotherapy, from three patients with carcinoma of the maxillary sinus were examined by scanning electron microscopy.

　In two patients extirpation of the orbit was done in a week after irradiation of 4000 rads, and in one patient in four months after irradiation of 7000 rads.

　The remarkable findings were desquamation in two cases and a defect of epithelium in the other case. The injury of the corneas was greater in the case irradiated with 7000 rads than those with 4000 rads.
