甲状腺結核症の1例

Tuberculosis of the Thyroid: A Case Report

　I．はじめに

　甲状腺結核症は，全身的な粟粒結核に伴って見出されることはあっても，単独に甲状腺疾患として生じることは非常に稀である。われわれは甲状腺の悪性腫瘍を疑われた1例を経験したので報告する。

　A 76-year-old male with a painless swelling of the left thyroid lobe was suspected of carcinoma of the thyroid. Subsequeutly, the thyroid became fluctuant, and tuberculous bacilli were found in pus aspirated from the thyroid. Chest x-ray showed a right superior mediastinal mass. Reduction of the thyroid swelling and mediastinal mass was occurred following the introduction of chemotherapy. Histological examination showed tuberculous granulomata with giant cells in the thyroid tissue.
